We were immediately struck by our first visit: captivated by the characteristic and cozy Kristine Moen Huset, the Lofoten and the Vesterålen.
Since our move from the Netherlands, we enjoy being on the search for new adventures and places to go. And the best thing about it all, is to share it with like minded people. We love all the beauty around us every day, and we grant it to everyone to experience the peace, beauty and roughness by themselves.
That is our motivation. We will gladly take you along, look for the Northern Lights and let you experience the Lofoten and Vesterålen from the beautifully situated Laukvik. We would like to show you what our enthusiasm for these Norwegian islands is based on!
From the ideally located Laukvik on the Lofoten, we organise fully arranged group trips "Byzondere Reizen". In the time in between those trips, we rent out our guesthouse and/or offer B&B arrangements for smaller groups or people who want to draw their own plan.
The Kristine Moen guesthouse is named after a former resident who has become almost 102 years old. Kristine was an eccentric woman who renovated the house at the age of 70 and enlarged it to a holiday home with 17 beds. The accommodation was adjusted again in 2002 and now has 5 double rooms with their own bathroom and two single rooms who share the bathroom.
In addition, there is a very cozy, generously proportioned common dining and sitting room. Are you looking for a cozy base to explore the Lofoten? You are very welcome to spend some nights in our guesthouse! Guests write in our guestbook that it is wonderful to 'land' here. Take your time, relax and enjoy nature, the sea, the calmness and the midnight sun or the Northern Lights. All seasons have their special qualities.
Kristine Moen Huset is situated next to the sea. Whether you like hiking, surfing, wild skiing, biking, fishing, or just the beauty of the exceptional environment.... this is the place to stay. The Matmora mountain in the back garden, the heavenly lakes of Delpsmarka behind it, a stone's throw away from the Laukvikøyene nature reserve, and so on. All good for wonderful walks, easy and more difficult. Plenty of beauty for those who like to photograph. And not to mention the ever-enchanting Northern Lights! The port of Laukvik is approximately a half-hour walk away. At Keans Beans, Chris serves delicious ‘kaffe med kake’. He roasts the coffee himself. His cappuccino is unforgettable.
During breakfast we are happy to tell you what you can see and experience. Depending on the weather you can make your day program, put together your lunch package and fill your thermos. On request, we serve a tasty evening meal. You will meet fellow travellers from all over the world at the dining table or in the spacious living room. Plenty of experiences are exchanged among themselves.
On the first floor we have 6 different bedrooms available. The bedrooms are functional with comfortable single or double beds. Each double room has its own bathroom with a shower and toilet across the hall. The two single rooms share their bathroom. On the top floor, we have a two-person attic room. Due to the limited height, the private bathroom there has a toilet and bathtub, no shower.
